Marble Falls Talent Profile: The Rathkamps

Without question, Marble Falls is a cooler place since the Rathkamps came to town.  Dr. David Rathkamp and Dr. Quynh Rathkamp are the owners and founders of Save the World Brewing Company, located in the EDC’s Business & Technology Park.  With the release of their first beer, the Lux Mundi Patersbier, last Friday at the Double Horn Brewing Company in Downtown Marble Falls, they responded to months and months of pent-up demand for their product.  The Patersbier was joyously received, selling out within 75 minutes of being on the shelf.  Now, the Rathkamps and others are anxiously awaiting the results of the local option election that would expand the boundaries where alcohol can be consumed in Marble Falls to include their brewery and other areas annexed in the last 25 years.

Dr. Dave and Dr. Quynh met during their residency at Tulane University Medical Center.  Both entered pediatrics, and they lived in the Metroplex for about a decade until relocating to the Hill Country.  Quynh did her undergraduate work at Harvard and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Physicians.  She remains staff physician at USMD and splits her time between North Texas and Marble Falls.  Dave is a graduate of UT Austin, the University of North Texas Health Science Center, and the American Brewers Guild.  He belongs to the Master Brewers Association of America, the Texas Brewers Guild, and the American Brewers Association.

The Rathkamps’ favorite things about Marble Falls are the friendly people, the beautiful surroundings, the supportive business community and city, and the potential.  Their vision for the future of Marble Falls is to become a city that fully takes advantage of all its beauty and natural surroundings, making visitors feel relaxed and at home and residents part of a community they can be proud of.

I couldn’t have said it better myself.

We invite you to come to Marble Falls, meet the Rathkamps, and see for yourself the cool things that are happening in our community.
